People of Guinea celebrate military coup d’etat as President Alpha Conde is overthrown. Alpha Conde has been arrested by the military. Leader of the coup said the ‘President is currently with the military.

There were multiple gunfire in Guinea’s capital, Conakry early hoursof Sunday September 5.
The coup d’etat was led by military officer, Lt. Colonel Mamady Doumbouya.
The Colonel said they have arrested President Alpha Conde and have devolved the constitution. He revealed reasons for their action. He said their action was based on corruption, embezzlement of state funds, nepotism and mass and suffering of the people.
General Secretary of United Nations, tweeted of happenings in Guinea, condemning the action of the military.
“I am personally following the situation in Guinea very closely. I strongly condenm any takeover of the government by force.
Alpha Conde who is 83years who modified the constitution to suit his third term in office. He won elections last year, a win regarded unfair.
People of Guinea took to the streets, in their cars and on motorbikes to celebrate the coup. Watch video below
