We will trade with Russia, we don’t believe in being enemies of somebody’s enemy – Museveni

Museveni told Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov in Uganda that the country want to make their own enemies, not Russia
President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni in a meeting with Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov during his visit to the country told the world “Uganda want to trade with Russia”
Speaking in a meeting, Mr. Yoweri Museveni said Russia is not ready to make Russia an enemy or fight the people of Russia.
Sergey Lavrov was in Egypt, Dr. Congo Uganda and Ethiopia amidst Russia Ukraine war for a visit and bilateral talks. Lavrov in his address in Egypt said that Russia’s main goal is to topple the Ukrainian government and remove President Volodymyr Zelensky to “free the people of Ukraine”

Uganda President Yoweri Museveni said as a sovereign state, they have every right to choose which country to trade with and Russia is definitely remains a fertile ground for this purpose.
“We want to trade with Russia. We want to trade with all countries of the world” he said
He also stated that Uganda is not in any way or form ready to have any bad blood with Russia and does not consider the Russian state their enemy.
“We don’t believe in being enemies of somebody’s enemy. No, we want ro make our own enemies not fight other people’s enemies”
Meanwhile, Uganda recently discovered huge deposits of gold and is expected to start mining as soon as possible
